Special Issue: High-Entropy Oxides as Functional Chemical Systems: Disorder by Design

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

High-entropy oxides represent a relatively novel class of materials, first reported in 2015, and have since been recognized as a promising family of multifunctional systems. Although research in this field is rapidly expanding, it remains at an early stage, and the number of comprehensive studies is still limited. Preliminary findings nevertheless indicate that high-entropy oxides exhibit unique and highly promising properties, suggesting that they may offer transformative advantages over conventional oxide materials. This Special Issue aims to address existing knowledge gaps by bringing together high-quality research that advances the fundamental understanding, chemical design, and functional applications of high-entropy oxides.
