I’m a first-year master’s student at SCAMT Institute, ITMO University, Saint Petersburg, Russia. My major is Chemistry of Applied Materials. In the summer semester of 2020/2021, I was a part of the Erasmus+ program at The Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. Osijek is a students city while also a small, peaceful town. Here you can meet friendly people and cozy places for eating and having coffee. Besides study, I was a student researcher in Igor Djerdj’s research group at the Department of Chemistry. I joined the project aimed at the study of high entropy oxides. During my Erasmus exchange period, I had the pleasure to work with friendly and helpful people and gained knowledge in sol-gel and mechanochemical synthesis, characterization of high entropy oxides by powder X-ray diffraction, FT-IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and UV/Vis spectroscopy using university equipment. It was a great opportunity to meet people with different backgrounds and cultures, travel around Croatia, and improve personal skills in English language and laboratory practice.
